Child Safeguarding Note

1. Our Commitment

StudyBridge is committed to the safety and wellbeing of all students who use the platform. Although we are a peer-to-peer service (students helping students), we recognise our responsibility to promote a safe environment.

2. Responsible Adult

The responsible adults overseeing this project are Victor Mata Batlle and Regina Rodriguez Prieto, who can be contacted through contact@studybridge.es.

3. Platform Safety Measures

  • Age restriction: The platform is restricted to students aged 14 and over
  • School context: StudyBridge is designed for use within a school community — users are expected to be students at the same school
  • On-premises meetings: Tutoring sessions are encouraged to take place on school premises during or around school hours
  • No private messaging: The platform does not include a chat or private messaging feature — communication happens in person
  • Transparent profiles: All user profiles are visible to other users on the platform — there are no hidden or anonymous interactions
  • Reviews: Session reviews provide accountability and transparency

4. Reporting Concerns

If you experience or witness any of the following, please report it immediately:

  • Inappropriate behaviour from another user
  • Bullying, harassment, or intimidation
  • Any behaviour that makes you feel unsafe
  • Requests to meet in private or off-campus
  • Any safeguarding concern

How to report:

  • Email: contact@studybridge.es (use subject line “Safety Report”)
  • Use the “Report an issue” link available in the dashboard and website footer
  • Speak to a teacher or school counsellor directly

5. What Happens When You Report

  • All reports are reviewed by the responsible adult
  • Reports are treated confidentially
  • If appropriate, the school safeguarding team will be informed
  • The reported user's account may be suspended pending investigation
  • You will be informed of the outcome where appropriate

6. Data Protection for Minors

We take the protection of minors' data seriously. Our Privacy Policy details how personal data is collected, stored, and used. We collect the minimum data necessary to operate the service and do not share data with third parties for marketing purposes.

7. Guidelines for Students

  • Always meet for tutoring sessions in public areas on school grounds
  • If a session is arranged outside school, let a parent or guardian know
  • Never share your password with anyone
  • If something feels wrong, trust your instincts and report it
  • Be respectful in all interactions — both in person and through reviews
